Interview
The Horsemen came out for an interview concerning WarGames.
RF = Ric Flair
AA = Arn Anderson
CB = Chris Benoit
[ The Horsemen consisting of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Dean Malenko come to
the ring to a standing ovation. ]
RF: Chris Benoit... the Horsemen have always stood for class... integrity... and
being the very elite. Only a select few have ever given the chance to ride
with us and nobody has had the audacity to turn down our offers...
AA: Wait a second, Ric... this may be the wrong foot to start off on. Chris
Benoit... the fact of the matter is: you're not the WWF champion anymore.
You will not be facing us in the ring, and that means if you want to be a
part of wrestling history, you will need to join us. You and Malenko... you
have always respected one another... you've fought as a unit... you've
fought each other. However, the bottom line is that the two of you were the
best at what you do best: wrestling. Chris... please come in here now and
do the right thing... resume your part at our side... we want to have our
final hurrah with you - arguably the finest wrestler in the business.
[ Chris Benoit appears on the ramp and addresses the Horsemen. ]
CB: Arn Anderson... truer words have never been spoken. I have all the respect
in the world for Dean Malenko, and it would be an honor for me to wrestle
at his side. However... however... I will not fight on your side or on that
of this bleach-blonde scumbag Ric Flair ever again. I will beat Rob Van Dam
for the WWF title and then I'll kick Flair's butt at the Survivor Series.
That's all I have to say.
[ Chris Benoit storm off of the stage as the Horsemen stand in the ring in a
state of confusion. Arn Anderson then turns his head to look at Ric Flair,
and all of a sudden both start sporting a big grin. ]
AA: Ric... are you thinking what I'm thinking.
RF: Double-A... you damn betcha. Gentlemen... we have business to take care of.
[ The Horsemen exit the arena. ]

challenge you to a title match. I've beaten everybody the WWF has put in
front of me. I earned myself a title shot, and you - I'm sure - are man
enough to give me what is rightfully mine.

second, though, that you could beat me for the title. That isn't going to
happen.

Match Observations:
Nothing really has been settled between Masato Tanaka and David Finlay. They
will surely meet again.
Speaking of meeting again, is it just me or do the new WWF World Tag Team
Champions Bret Hart and Val Venis have their work cut out in the form of
Steve Williams and Stan Hansen ?
Former Intercontinental Champion Hayabusa and former World Champion Al Snow
showed perfect chain wrestling in their encounter, and Hayabusa was able to
tie their match series at 1:1.
The Horsemen just plain don't get it, do they ? How often does Chris Benoit
have to tell them he wants no part of their organization before they stop
bugging him ? The question that remains is: what are the Horsemen up to ? What
was it with their big smiles ?
The Undertaker regained the Brawl For All title from Ken Shamrock, however
Shamrock has already made it clear that he wants to fight the Undertaker one
more time at the Survivor Series.
Once again, Rocky Maivia was instrumental in costing Hollywood Hogan an
important match. This time around, it was Shawn Michaels who gave Hogan all he
can handle and then some. Yet, once again The Rock made the difference between
victory and defeat.
Chris Benoit managed to regain the WWF title tonight, and he's already looking
forward to the WarGames match at the Survivor Series. Bran Christopher issued
a challenge to Benoit which he accepted almost immediately. This match will take
place on RAW the night after Survivor Series.
Speaking of the Survivor Series... this is the official card:
* The Horsemen will face WWF Champion Chris Benoit, the WWF World Tag Team
Champions Bret Hart and Val Venis and WWF Intercontinental Champion Kendo Ka
Shin in WarGames. Who will the fourth Horseman be ? We will find out shortly.
* Hollywood Hogan will team with Steve Williams, Stan Hansen and the returning
Rick Steiner against The Rock, Cactus Jack, Sabu and Dan Severn
* Hayabusa's team consisting of himself, Brian Christopher, Dave Finlay and
Jyushin Lyger will square off against Al Snow, Masato Tanaka, Shinjiro
Ohtani and Kensuke Sasaki.
* The Undertaker and the three Dudleys will take on the explosive team of
Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam (filling in for the injured Ken Shamrock) and the
debuting tag team of D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry.
Ken Shamrock has made it clear, BTW, that he will be at the Survivor Series as
well in some capacity. So will we. See you then !
